Preventing Retail Customer Account Takeover

Aug 17, 2023
asset thumbnail

Customers trust retailers with their personal data; any compromise to that data will result in lost customers and revenue. One type of attack that is becoming increasingly prevalent in retail is account takeover (ATO). ATO is a type of fraud that occurs when a bad actor uses stolen credentials to access customer accounts. When bad actors access accounts, they can steal personal data and loyalty points or fraudulently purchase goods and services.

Palo Alto Networks provides ATO bot protection capabilities with the Prisma Cloud Web Application and API Security (WAAS) solution. WAAS capabilities include best-of-breed bot detection and classification, providing retailers with granular controls and enterprise-wide visibility that enable them to detect and mitigate bot risks.
