The TiE50 Award was presented by TiE at TiEcon 2009 this past weekend to the top 50 start-ups selected from approximately 1,200 nominees.

Palo Alto is demonstrating its latest next-generation firewalls in Booth #427 at Interop Las Vegas 2009, being held this week at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Honored with this recognition by entrepreneurs, executives and business professionals, TiE50 Award winners are diverse in size, progress, maturity and location. According to TiE, they share a common thread of innovation, ingenuity, strong management teams and overall quality of ideas.

The TiE 50 judging process was designed with meticulous planning, screening and judging by more than 40 prominent entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, corporate executives and other domain experts. TiE is also pleased to acknowledge the nominee companies, and those who publicly voted from around the world, ultimately selecting the 50 winners from the group of finalists. TiE50 winners presented their companies in a live showcase at TiEcon 2009 on May 15 - 16 in Santa Clara, Calif.
